FIRST ANNUAL CIMARRON CHALLENGE

The Cimarron Challenge, starting and ending in Cimarron, New Mexico is a gravel cycling event through the Carson National Forest’s Valle Vidal Unit and Philmont Boy Scout Ranch.

Two routes will be offered:
• 78 mile loop with 5860 feet of gain
• 66 mile loop with 4046 feet of gain.

The high point on the long route is 9696’. Entries are capped at 250, entry fee is $80 per rider. Registration continues until all 250 spots are filled or August 20,

This is a non-competitive ride with no age or equipment divisions but will be timed and awards will be given to the top three men and women finishers on the long route. The course is primarily gravel forest road with old double track logging roads and some pavement. The course is best ridden on a gravel bike with at least 40C tires or a mountain bike. There will be full on-course support including four well-stocked aid stations and SAGs.
