World Migratory Bird Day
6:55 a.m. Early Bird Special! Join us at the Visitor Center for coffee & homemade cinnamon rolls to watch birds such as goldfinches at the feeders.
8 a.m. Bird Walk for Beginners. Meet at the Visitor Center for an easy half-mile walk along Chicorica Creek. Binoculars and guides provided.
9 a.m. Coffee with a Ranger. Come to the Lake Alice Campground for coffee and doughnuts and some camp-chair birding. Binoculars and guides provided.
10:15 a.m. Hummingbirds in Your Hand. Assist rangers from the National Park Service for a close look at hummingbirds at the park Visitor Center.
2 p.m. Just for Kids. Soda Pocket Amphitheater. Bird-related crafts, games and activities for kids. Designed for kids 6-12.
4 p.m. The Big Guys! Lake Alice Campground. Come meet live birds such as a Swainson’s hawk and a turkey vulture, two birds who migrate to our area.
