George S. Ortiz, passed away on September 9, 2016 at the Spanish Peaks VA Community Living Center in Walsenburg, CO.
He was born in Trinidad, CO to David and Guadalupe (Madrid) Ortiz on January 23, 1926.He had seven brothers and two sisters.
He married Arlene (Pacheco) Ortiz and from this union they had three children, Georganne (Ortiz) Vallejos, Jeanine (Ortiz) Esquibel, and one son George S. Ortiz Jr.
He served in the United States Coast Guard.
He was an Educator, Counselor, Coach, Mentor and Friend to many people.
He is survived by his many loving family members and friends.
In lieu of plants, flowers or food the family respectfully requests that contributions be made to School District #1 to the George S. Ortiz Trinidad Miner Memorabilia Hall.
