Jerry Glen Smith, age 76, passed away at Mt, San Rafael Hospital on October 17, 2013.
He was born in Fannin County, Texas on July 19, 1937, the son of Lois (Oliver) and George E. Smith.
He attended school in Snyder, TX and graduated in 1955.
Jerry attended TSJC 1970-1972 receiving a degree in Architectural Drafting and Design.
In July 19, 1972, Jerry was united in marriage to Phyllis E. Williamson in Raton, New Mexico.
He then was employed at the Las Animas County Rehab and River Canyon Ranch,
Jerry then attended Gunsmith classes at TSJC in 1994.
He was an avid outdoorsman and liked to hunt and for some time, ran a trap line.
He liked to compete in the yearly Rendezvous in Raton, New Mexico at the Whittington Center, competing in various competitions including the Black Powder Shoot.
He was preceded in death by parents, Lois and George Smith, sister Sue O’Toole and daughter Judy Smith.
Survivors are wife Phyllis of home address, children, Raymond Glen (Angie) Smith, Coahoma, TX. Cynthia Smith, Coahoma, TX, Richard Dale (Michelle) Smith, Big Spring, TX, Patrick Wayne (Bonnie) Falany, Denver, CO, Joy Lynn Smith, (Eric Sanchez) Pueblo CO, Gerald Lane (Victoria) Smith, Trinidad, CO, Darla E. Smith, Trinidad, CO, 15 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brothers Don (Linda) Smith, TX, Cleo (Sandy) Smith, TX, several sister and brothers in law, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
At his request, cremation with private family services.
