The 2026 Raton High Homecoming Parade got started about 1:00 p.m. Friday September 25, 2026 under partly cloudy skies after a couple days of rainy weather that would have put a big damper on the festivities.
This year’s parade was lead by Grand Marshall Linda Ortiz who gave 50 years to the teaching profession in the Raton Schools. She was driven down the route by husband Anthony Ortiz.
The Sophomore Class took the first place ribbon with the freshmen class float receiving the second place not. The Senior class float took the third place ribbon followed by the Junior class float.
The parade also included classic cars and class reunions as well as a couple of businesses and the politicos. the parade was lead by the Raton Police and followed up at the end by Colfax Rapid Response units and the might Tiger Activity bus.
