The 2026 Colfax County Fair completed a successful run for its 82nd edition with another successful Jr Livestock Sale on Saturday, July 25 in the Miller-Lark Pavillion at the Springer Fairgrounds.
56 animals made the sale which together collected some $323,000 (without add-ons) and were lead by Alannah Roybal as the young lady earned a rare double as she raised both the Grand Champion Market Beef and Grand Champion Market Swine. Roybal has elected to take her beef to competition at the NM State Fair later this year, and so the auctioneer Joe Boulware helped get the biggest price at auction, $12,225 to go towards a scholarship. Alannah’s Grand Champion Hog earned $7,500, also top price for the species.
Another double was scored in the Market Goat category as Adeline Yates raised both Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion, which brought in $4,500 apiece.
Reserve Grand Champion Market Steer was raised by Beau Dixon, who has also elected to take his animal to the NM State Fair.
Reagan Doherty’s Grand Champion Market Sheep fetched $6,500, while Margarita Weir’s Reserve Grand Champion lamb netted a bid of $4,500.
The Grand Champion Colfax County Bred/Raised Market Beef was raised by Madison Blakney and brought in a hefty $11,500 for her efforts.

Before the sale began, the Colfax County Fair Association named top Herdsman for each species which were: Alex Lopez, swine; Natalie Atler, lamb; Autumn Meyers, goat; and Olivia Burton was named top beef herdsman. Burton was one of five seniors in the 4H program who were recognized including Alannah Roybal, Chiara Martinez, Cyrus Chance and Justin Arko.
Round Robin Showmanship Awards went to Raven Doherty in the Senior Division and to Joseph Lopez in the Junior Division.
Awards were also presented for Indoor Exhibit winners and Natalie Atler took top honors in the Senior Division while Scarlet Mayer was recognized as Jr Indoor Exhibit winner and Novice Division was lead by Jaden George.
2026-27 Royalty included: Colfax County Fair Queen, Christina Sneed; Fair Princess Hannah Airington; and Little Miss, Nova Brogley.
The Silver Spur Cowbelle’s Man-of-the-Year is Corky Fernandez and the CC Fair Woman-of-the-Year was Kathy Spargo.
