FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Maxwell, NM – September 11, 2026
Arrest for Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses In June of this year, the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into the alleged possession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) originating in our county.
On June 18, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant as part of that investigation and located and seized evidence consistent with the offenses under investigation. That investigation led to the arrest of Cameron Ogletree of Maxwell, New Mexico on September 11, 2026. Deputies took Ogletree into custody on an arrest warrant without incident. He has been charged with one count of possession of a visual medium of sexual exploitation of a child under 13, and one count of distribution of a visual medium of sexual exploitation of children by solicitation.
Ogletree was transported to the Vigil-Maldonado Detention Center in Raton, where he was booked and remains held pending judicial proceedings. He also faces separate charges from an October 2025 case. As with any criminal charge, Ogletree is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
The Colfax County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to our ongoing collaborative work with local, state, and federal partners to address all crimes, including crime against children and to protect the children of Colfax County.
