Nichole was predeceased by her father, Fred Romero Sr., whose memory she lovingly carried throughout her life and others she held dearly.
Nichole was an amazing mother. She worked hard to give Caylene the best life possible and was looking forward to retirement and moving to Las Cruces to be with her daughter. She shared a special bond with Caylene as mother, best friend, and role model. Caylene is Nichole’s greatest source of pride and joy.
Nichole was a loving daughter, mother, sister, auntie, and loyal friend. She had an especially close bond with her family and made time to talk with them on a daily basis. Her loving and giving nature also extended to animals, as she would make sure to feed the homeless cats around her home and over her lifetime provided a loving home for many dogs, including her most cherished dog, Sarco- whom she joins in heaven.
Nichole was a beacon of light and hope for anyone in her presence. Her smile and vibrant personality lit up the room. She was characterized as having a heart of gold, serving her community. Her career was focused on helping the communities throughout northern New Mexico including creating walking trails in Raton, worked on several projects supporting community members of all ages, and provided important support to help with the safety of the community during Covid. In her spare time, she volunteered at the humane society and was a loyal caregiver to her deceased father and elderly mother.
Nichole was a positive force in life who touched many from the loved ones that she graced with her presence daily to those she may have never even met, but whose lives she touched through her work as a public servant. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched and the many memories she helped create.
