The Raton Lady Tigers took to the court in Tiger Gym Wednesday evening February 7, 2024 to host the Red Birds from district rival Robertson.
This was a JV game as Raton has chosen to play as a JV team during district play this year. The Lady Tigers had a slow start as the Lady Cardinals pressed and kept Raton in the fore court a lot of the first quarter. Robertson managed to force the turnovers and out scored Raton by 19.
This trend continued into the second quarter allowing Robertson to extend their lead to a whopping 27 points going into the locker room at half time. Coach Marquez Medina played his bench most of the rest of the game which allowed Raton to have a good third quarter of play equalling the Lady Cardinals in points. The fourth quarter was a more defensive game with both teams only managing single digit scores. The final score was 50-18 to send Robertson home with a mark in the win column.
