The Lady Tigers hosted the Robertson Lady Cardinals Saturday after a delayed start due to transportation issues in what turned out to be a squeaker of a match with Robertson taking the series in four very close games.

The C-team took the court first with the Lady Tigers taking an early lead and tying the game at 5, 6 and 7 before Robertson took the lead and never looked back finishing off the first game by a 14 point margin, but not before the fire alarm delay caused by the popcorn machine again emptied the gym. In game two Robertson burst out in front and simply applied the pressure and went on to a 25-8 win.

The Jv players took to the court  next and set the stage for what would take place in the varsity match as the Raton Jv kept game one close with tie scores at 5,6, 7 and 8 where Raton took the lead with Eliana Gigante adding points with three aces. It stayed tight all the way down to the wire as the game was tied at 24 and 25 before Robertson managed to pull it out. Game two saw another close on with ties at 3, 6, 7 and 10 and 11 before Robertson managed to pull out in front 15-11. Raton managed to stay in the game and pulled to within one 23-22. Robertson managed to pull away and win by three.

The varsity match was a close one all the way through all four games with game one seeing ties from 2-9 and again at 11, 14 and 18. After each tie Robertson would manage to take the lead on slam ball going out of bounds or finding a hole to fall into. Game two saw Raton tie the game at six and then take the lead by as much as four points only to allow Robertson to come back and tie the game at 15 and 16. Raton again took the lead and pulled out by five and finished off the game up by five.

In game three Robertson took the early lead and it looked like they might run away with the game but Raton stayed right there despite a five point deficit during most of the game. Raton battled back to tie the game at 19 and 20 and again at 23 and 24. Robertson was able to take back the lead and finish off the game with by two. In game four Robertson took the lead with Raton right there threatening with a tie at 8 and 9. It stayed close with great play and some long volleys by both teams to result in a tie at 18. Robertson then managed to ink out a four point lead but Raton battled back to within two but finished the game down by four.
