Raton Lady Tigers hosted the Santa Fe Prep Lady Griffins Saturday afternoon for their final district home match of the season in Tiger Gym.

Santa Fe Prep took the C-Team match in two rather handily as they won both games by more than 10 points. The Lady Tigers struggled getting the ball back over the net during both games as the Lady Griffins kept working it at the net and in the back court.

The JV match went a bit different with Raton keeping it close in the first game with a tie game at 8 and then taking the lead. They tied again at 13, 16, 19, 21 and 24 before Prep went on to win on an ace. In game two Raton took the early lead and Prep battled back to tie at 5, 10, 14, 15. Prep then took the lead and went on to win the game eight.

The varsity match went four games with Prep taking game one by two. Raton took the lead but allowed ties at 2, 3, 5. The game stayed close with ties several times during the game. The final tie was at 18 before Prep managed to pull ahead and win the game by four.

Game two saw Raton take the win after another very close game with ties at 11, 12 and 13. Raton managed to maintain a small lead and take the win by two with a slam over the net to end the game.

Game three was another close win for Raton as Prep kept it close with a tie at 5, 8, and 11 trading the lead as the game went on. Raton fell behind but battled back from two to take the win by two after a tie at 24.

Game four saw Prep take the lead and pull away with a seven point lead 17-9 at one point before Raton battled back from the deficit. Raton tied the game at 21 and pulled ahead by two only to allow Prep to tie it at 23. Raton pulled ahead on a tip at the net and then won the game on a rotation penalty as Prep was out of rotation on the play.
