Jetta Meier, age 81, passed away peacefully in Raton, NM, at her home, on May 4, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born in Trinidad, Colorado, on August 1, 1941, to Lena (Valenti) and Louis Cacioppo.
together with her husband and family, she was involved in the horse racing industry for over 60 years.
She was preceded in death by parents Lena and Louis, husband Thomas Meier, and sister Rose Marie Green.
She is survived by her sons, Richard L. Meier and Joseph M.Meier both of Ratin, NM, brother Louie (Sylvia) Cacioppo, CA, nephews and nieces, Joe (Kristina) Cacioppo, CA, Courtney (Dimitri)Cretikos, CA, great-nieces, and great-nephews, Raylee, Austin, Ryan, Nicholas, Maximus, Samantha, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends.
At her request, cremation with Celebration of Life is to be held at a later date.
Arrangements were made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
