Matthew Allen Lucero was born in Walsenburg, Colorado on April 27, 1966, to Roseann and Joe Lucero. Matthew was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He passed away on July 24, 2022, at the age of 56 in Albuquerque, NM. Mathew is preceded in death by his mother Roseann Lucero, his father Joe Lucero, his mother-in-law Juanita Sanchez, his father-in-law Antonio Sanchez, his uncle Tom Salas and his nephew Johnny Ray Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Lucero, daughter, Juanita Romero and son-in-law Mark Romero, son Matthew Lucero and daughter in-Law Marisa Lucero. Grandchildren, Urijah and Arul Romero, Giovanni, Aria, and Bianca Lucero. Sister Brenda (Harold) Livingston. Brothers, John (Rosemary) Lucero and Mark (Sara) Lucero. Brother-in-law Marion (Cindy) Sanchez. Sister’s in-laws, Juanita (Johnny) Garcia, and Bertha Sanchez (George Smith). Brother-in-law Antonio Sanchez, sister’s in-law Louise Sanchez and Alice Sanchez. Brother’s in-law David Sanchez, Zeke (Becky) Sanchez, and several nephews and nieces, cousins, and friends. Matthew will be missed dearly, and his memory will be forever in our hearts.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Father Bill Woytavich as the Celebrant. Interment will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
