Raton hosted the Mora Rangerettes for a game at Jim Wade Field Friday afternoon June 4, 2021, yes that is right June 4th as the spring softball season drags into the month after graduation and the end of school.

It was scheduled as a double header for 1:00 p.m. Friday afternoon but as has happened often this season the second game was dropped and moved to a 4:00 p.m. start time Friday afternoon.  Mora struck first with a run in the first inning then added another one before Raton ended the inning for Mora with a strike out. Raton added two of their own to tie the game at two to end the first inning.

The spark struck and boy did it flare up a fire storm that saw Raton rack up the runs and when the smoke finally cleared on the bottom of the second inning Raton led 22-3, that was a 20 run rally by the Lady Tigers. Mora added a run in the third but too little too late to extend the game past the third inning and the 15 run rule that ends the game after the third inning. Final score was Raton 22-4
