The city of Raton is pleased to announce that a new business will soon be setting up operation in the Armex Plaza Building.
The city of Raton will be suspending all recycling operations beginning Thursday May 27, 2021. We will host one final Recycling day from 8 AM until noon on Wednesday May 26, 2021. This suspension of recycling will include all recycling for Cardboard, plastics, metal products, ect. This will also include the suspension of all cardboard pickup. This suspension is anticipated to last between 3 and 6 months. While we regret the suspension of recycling operations until the new transfer/ recycle facility is fully constructed and permitted we welcome the new business Ramel Family farms to Raton.
There will be no ability to store any recycled material in the meantime. This means that all recycling trailers will be placed in storage. Residents are asked to simply place any previously accepted recycled material along with other household trash in your nearest dumpster.
