The Lady Tigers hosted the Des Moines Lady Demons for their second home match of the unseason Tuesday evening.
There was supposed to be a junior high match before the varsity match but that was cancelled as Des Moines had issues with the number of games they had scheduled. when the varsity took the court it was a Lady Tigers game from the beginning as Raton took a early lead and simply dominated the first game of the match.
As game two got underway Raton seemed to dominate that one too but Des Moines took a 20 to 10 Raton lead and forced the mistakes and into points as they closed the gap 21-18 before Raton once again found their rhythm and pushed ahead for the win.
In game three Des Moines looked like they had finally found the groove and took an early lead at 5-1. Raton battled back and tied the game at five. Des M Moines stuck with it and kept the game close with tie scores at 7, 8 and 12 before Raton again took over the lead and rallied for a 19-12 lead. Raton finished off the game allowing Des moines only two more points to take the match in three.
