The Bar NI Ranch Community Service Fund is accepting grant proposals from both previous as well as new applicants. Grants may be awarded in the areas of education, youth development, environment and conservation, health and human services and civic or public benefit. Grant awards will be made to 501c3, non-profit organizations in the Purgatory Valley with projects that serve to inspire awareness, expand horizons, create independence, and foster personal growth. We strongly encourage projects focusing on youth and environmental education. We look for projects exploring creative ways to ignite the spirit, facilitate dreams and address root causes of problems rather than just treat affected conditions. Creative collaboration is strongly encouraged. For a proposal packet, please contact Tom Perry at tomandlindaperry@gmail.com.The deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, September 25, 2020. Organizations will be eligible to receive only one grant per calendar year. The needed documents for grant applications are attached for your convenience.

BAR NI RANCH COMMUNITY FUND
Grant Application Guidelines
Grant Program Summary and Eligibility Requirements
Established in 2004 by the Cabot Family and the Bar NI Ranch, the Bar NI Ranch Community Fund (BNI CF) awards grants in our local area to 501(c)(3) charitable organizations or organizations partnering with a 501(c)(3) organization in education and youth development, environment and conservation, health and human services, and civic and public benefit. The BNI CF Local Advisory Committee recommends grant awards to the fund trustees in areas that represent community needs that best match the focus of our mission. Grants to programs sponsored by religious organizations may be funded if the program or activity is clearly distinguished from religious activities and if the program or activity is available to all faiths.
Grant Program Policy
The Bar NI Ranch Community Service Fund will primarily consider grant applications for support of specific programs and activities. Grant applications for capital campaigns and for general support are sometimes, but not usually, recommended. Grant awards generally range from $1000 — $5000 for a one year period.
Grant Application Process
There are two grant application cycles per year – spring and fall. Organizations will be eligible to receive only one grant per calendar year. Each grant application is in competition with all other qualified grant applications in that grant cycle. All applications are reviewed and judged in how they serve our community and advance the mission of the Bar NI Community Fund.
Grant applications will be reviewed by the Local Advisory Committee and prioritized for the Executive Director to present to the Board of Trustees at their meetings in May and November. The Board of Trustees makes final decisions on all grant awards.
Declined grant requests are eligible to apply in the next grant cycle. A new grant application must be completed and submitted.
Fall 2020 Grant Applications due by Friday, September 25, 2020
Proposal Success
The Bar NI Ranch Community Service Fund would like your proposal to be as strong as possible. For proposal questions please email Tom Perry at tomandlindaperry@gmail.com.
Note to previous award recipients:
- If your r program has received BNI CF grant funds in the past, the organization should not readily assume or anticipate receiving a grant in this cycle or one in the future.
- The BNI CF encourages our grantee organizations to broaden and diversify their donor and grant base so that they do not become dependent on a single or limited number of funding sources.
- Repeat applicants will increase their chances of success if they develop creative ways to inject newness, freshness, and innovation into their projects.
- Organizations will be eligible to receive only one grant per calendar year.
