“Hello everyone! My name is Elizabeth Hampl-Beck. I feel so privileged to be the Director of Community Programs here at the Department of Parks and Recreation! I am excited to get to know people in the community and develop programs and events that will be enjoyable and beneficial for so many!
A little bit about me: I graduated with a Bachelor’s in Community Health Education from Southern
Illinois University Edwardsville. I was a collegiate Track and Field thrower during my college
career.
My parents instilled in me a love and appreciation for the great outdoors. In my free time, I like to read, research, weight lift, swim, hike, throw a hammer, community service, and garden. Ever since my little family moved to Raton two years ago, I have fallen in love with this town! I am excited to put my skills, talents, and knowledge to work!”
Future Calendar Events:
▪ May – Raton Aquatic Center Summer Hours begin the end of May
▪ June – Great Outdoors Month! Full of events and activities!
▪ July 11 – Humane Society 7K Run/Walk @ Sugarite State Park -$20
▪ July 18 – Inaugural Raton Regional Youth Triathlon @
Roundhouse Park. Ages 11-18 years old. More info to come soon!
The group, Friends of Raton Recreation, is hoping that members in our community may help spruce up the front of the Raton Regional Aquatic Center by donating unneeded landscaping items. They are looking for items such as rock, stones, pavers, cinder blocks, 4×4 pieces of wood, large pots, hoses, etc.
If you have any items you could donate for this project, please contact Elizabeth Hampl-Beck at ehamplbeck@gmail.com . If you have any questions, feel free to email Elizabeth.
