In Loving Memory of Max Tony Lamorie

Max Tony Lamorie passed away at the age of 74 in Charlotte, NC.  Max was born in Trindad, Colorado. He graduated from Holy Trinity High School in 1963. After graduation he was accepted into the US Air Force serving in Grand Forks, ND, Vietnam and Tullahoma TN.  He then lived and worked in Boulder Colorado. In 1975 Max joined the US Navy and served aboard the USS Ainsworth until 1981. The Ainsworth was homeported in Norfolk, VA and traveled to ports all over the Caribbean, Europe and the Persian Gulf.  The Ainsworth was deployed to the Persian Gulf during the Iranian Hostage Crisis of 1979.  After the Navy, Max lived in Huntsville, AL where he worked at NASA Marshall Space Center as a computer technician. He then moved to Charlotte, NC where he worked as a computer field technician until he retired in 2005.

 

Max was preceded in death by parents Mary and Claude Lamorie, and sisters Ethel, Sharlene and Gladys.  He is survived by his wife Cheryl Wilson Lamorie, son Shayne Stafford Lamorie , granddaughter Storm Lamorie Reitzgreat-granddaughter Embry Sonya Reitz, sisters: Velma Gutierrez, Laura Lamorie, brother: Claude Lamorie and many nieces, nephews.

 

Max’s two passions in life were computers and his great-granddaughter Embry.  Nothing made him smile more than seeing Embry toddle into the room.  She loved him too, always giving him a big smile and wave on her way to preschool each morning.  Max spent a lot of his free time building and playing on his computers.  He took great pride in building state of the art gaming systems and loved playing warfare games such as Battlefield.

 

Max will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.  He is at peace with God.

 

Interment was held at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.

Because of Covid 19 restrictions, a complete service with Military Honors will be held at a later date.  Place and time to be announced.
