Bluewater Lake: Miguel Salas of Moriarty caught and released a 37-inch tiger muskie May 14. He was using hot dogs. Anders Barela of Albuquerque caught and released a 39-inch tiger muskie May 12. He was using a black and gold, 8-inch, soft plastic waterdog.

Caballo Lake: Dylan Bailey, age 11, of El Paso caught and released his personal best 3.5-pound largemouth bass May 17. He was using a jig and craw combo.

Cochiti Lake: Peter Sutfin of Albuquerque caught a 6-pound carp May 15. He was using liver.

Fenton Lake:  Don Daily of Los Ranchos caught and released a 20-inch rainbow trout and several others in the 16 to 18-inch class May 15. He was using a mafia Pistol Pete. TyMichael Sanchez, age 13, of San Felipe Pueblo caught his first ever trout, a 17-inch rainbow May 19. He was using orange, garlic, Power eggs.

Grindstone Reservoir: Deon Bigas, age 11, his cousin Zeke Bigas, age 13, and friend Ty’heed Lewis, age 13 all caught rainbow trout May 18. They were using assorted PowerBait.

Heron Lake: Vina Ortiz of Rutheron caught a 23-inch lake trout May 16. She was using a jig tipped with cut bait.

Laguna Del Campo: JJ Nevarez of Espanola Valley caught a 22-inch rainbow trout May 18. He was using a night crawler. Davina Maria Gomez of La Puebla caught an 18-inch rainbow trout May 19. She was using PowerBait.

Navajo Lake:  Alice Wilkins, age 8 of Santa Fe, while fishing with her dad, Kyle, and uncle Ken Howell caught a 24-inch brown trout May 16. She was trolling an orange jointed Rapala on the main body of the lake.

Seven Springs Brood Pond: Patrick Martinez of Santa Fe caught a 19-inch rainbow trout May 16. He was using a black wooly bugger under a bobber.

Tingley Beach: Trish Valdez of Albuquerque caught and released her first ever freshwater bass, a nice largemouth, May 19. She was fishing the Catch and Release Pond and using a custom tied, size 22, tan larvae.

Ute Lake: Gunner Griffitt, age 7 of Logan caught his first big bass, a smallmouth, on his birthday May 15. He was using a Pop R. Steven Cain of Portales caught a 6.5-pound walleye May 19. He was using a stick crank bait.

Eagle Nest Lake: Don Espinosa of Taos caught a 23-inch rainbow trout May 11. He was using PowerBait.

Ute Lake: Zane Conklin, age 11, of Cedar Crest caught a great smallmouth bass May 12. He was using a swim shad.

Cimarron River: Stream flow near Cimarron on Monday morning was 82.7 cfs. Fishing was good using red San Juan worms, red zebra midges, small pheasant tail nymphs and brassies for trout. Fishing at the Gravel Pit Lakes was good using PowerBait.

Clayton Lake: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, spinners and worms for trout. Fishing was fair to good using worms and liver for catfish. Fishing was fair using swim baits and tubes for largemouth bass. We had no reports on other species.

Conchas Lake: Fishing was very good using crank baits, spinner baits, jerk baits, swim baits, top water lures, tubes, senkos, jigs and creature baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair using minnows and curly tail grubs for crappie. Fishing was good using crank baits, sassy shad and spinners for white bass. Fishing was good using crank baits and trolling minnow and worm rigs for walleye. Fishing was good using cut bait, homemade dough bait and liver for catfish. The surface water temp ranged from the mid 60s to the low 70s.

Costilla Creek: Trout fishing continued to be good using baetis nymph patterns on dry dropper rigs.

Cowles Ponds: Fishing was very good using PowerBait, salmon eggs and small Panther Martin spinners for trout.

Coyote Creek: Fishing was good using PowerBait, Fire Balls, worms and small copper John Barrs for trout.

Eagle Nest Lake: Fishing was good using spinners, small spoons and PowerBait for rainbow trout. Fishing for northern pike was good using PowerBait, large streamers, spinners and spoons. Fishing was fair using worms for perch.

Eagle Rock Lake: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait for trout.

Fawn Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Gallinas River: Fishing was good using worms and Fire Balls for trout.

Hopewell Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait for 15 to 17-inch trout.

Lake Alice: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Lake Maloya: Fishing was good using PowerBait for trout. The Sugarite Fishing Derby, a nine-day event, begins Saturday, May 25. For more information, contact the state park office at (575) 445-5607.

Los Pinos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Maxwell Lake 13: Fishing was fair using PowerBait for trout.

Monastery Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, Fire Balls and Pistol Petes for trout.

Morphy Lake: Closed for a renovation project on the dam and no firm opening date has been set.

Pecos River: Stream flow near the town of Pecos on Monday morning was 432 cfs. Fishing was fair using worms for a mixed bag of brown and rainbow trout. The best action continued to be in the pools near the bank.

Red River: Stream flow below the hatchery on Monday morning was 225 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Rio Grande: Stream flow at the Taos Junction Bridge was 3,430 cfs. Fishing was slow for all species.

Rio Hondo: Stream flow on Monday morning was 129 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Rio Mora: Stream flow on Monday morning was 126 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Rio Pueblo: Stream flow on Monday morning near Penasco was 170 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Santa Cruz Reservoir: Fishing was good using jigs, Pistol Petes, spoons and PowerBait for trout. Peter Romero reported that the big trout were still hitting the Secret Weapon jig and brown trout were being caught on bright orange spoons. Several anglers did well catching both brown and rainbow trout from shore. Adam Archuleta reported fair to good fishing for brown and rainbow trout ranging in size from 14 to 17-inches. He was using worms and PowerBait.

Shuree Ponds: Closed for the season.

Springer Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Storrie Lake: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait for trout.

Stubblefield Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Ute Lake: Fishing was very good using crank baits, chatter bait, jerk baits, swim baits, tubes, creature baits and spinner baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using minnows, curly tail grubs and small jigs for crappie. Fishing was good trolling crank baits for walleye and white bass. Fishing was good using hot dogs, homemade dough bait, liver, night crawlers and dip bait for catfish in shallow water. The surface temp was in the mid to high 60s.

Abiquiu Lake: Fishing was slow for all species with light fishing pressure. The water was quite murky.

Animas River: Water flow below Aztec on Monday morning was 2,320 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Albuquerque Area Drains: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Bluewater Lake: Fishing was fair using water dogs, creature baits, swim baits and deep running crank baits for tiger muskie. We had no reports on other species.

Brazos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Canjilon Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Chama River: Monday morning flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 1,160 cfs and 1,760 cfs respectively. Trout fishing was slow.

Cochiti Lake: Fishing was fair to good using liver for carp. Fishing for crappie was slow with just a few caught by anglers using minnows. We had no other reports.

El Vado Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Fenton Lake: Fishing was very good using wooly buggers, leech patterns, Pistol Petes, Kastmasters, spinners, small crank baits and green and yellow PowerBait for trout. A few were also caught by anglers using salmon eggs.

Heron Lake: Fishing from the bank was fair to good using PowerBait and worms for rainbow trout. The best area was between Ridge Rock and Piedra Point. Fishing for all other species was slow. The La Laja boat ramp has opened.

Jackson Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez near the town of Jemez on Monday morning was 207 cfs and fishing was slow. Fishing on the East Fork and San Antonio was good using hoppers, copper John Barrs and worms for trout. Trish Valdez of Albuquerque reported good hopper action.

Laguna del Campo: Fishing was very good using Pistol Petes, night crawlers and PowerBait for trout.

Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Lake Farmington: Fishing was slow for all species.

Manzano Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

McGaffey Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Navajo Lake: Fishing was good using minnows, small grubs and small tubes for crappie. Fishing was good using swim baits, jerk baits, crank baits, spinner baits, curly tail grubs and jigs for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using jigs, crank baits and swim baits for northern pike. Fishing was fair trolling crank baits and spinners for trout. A few were also caught by anglers using PowerBait. Anglers trolling for trout also picked up an occasional Kokanee. We had no reports on other species.

San Gregorio Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

San Juan River: Stream flow on Monday morning was at 408 cfs and still a bit murky. Fishing through the Quality Water section was fair to good using chamois leeches, black and olive bunny leeches, flash back pheasant tails, jigs, San Juan worms, Big Macs and bright egg patterns. Trout fishing through the bait waters was fair to good using jigs, night crawlers and PowerBait.

Seven Springs Brood Pond: Fishing was very good using worms, wooly buggers, chamois leeches and spoons for trout.

Tingley Beach: Fishing at the Bob Gerding Catch and Release Pond was good using hoppers, CDC emergers and chamois leeches for trout. Fishing was slow to fair using small flies, tubes and jigs for largemouth bass. We had no reports on other species.

Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Alumni Pond: Fishing was fair using a variety of flies for bluegill. Fishing was slow for all other species.

Bear Canyon Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Bill Evans Lake: Fishing was slow with just a few trout caught by anglers using PowerBait.

Caballo Lake: Fishing was fair using curly tail grubs, minnows and jigs for crappie. Fishing was fair to good using minnows, crank baits and grubs for walleye. Fishing was fair using jig and craw combos, crank baits and tubes for largemouth bass. Fishing was fair using liver, homemade dough bait and cut bait for catfish.

Elephant Butte Lake: Fishing was good using minnows, crank baits, curly tail grubs, Gulp minnows and tubes for a mixed bag of crappie, walleye and white bass. Fishing was good using top water lures, chatter baits, crank baits, spinner baits, tubes, curly tail grubs, senkos, creature baits and swim baits for largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Fishing was good using cut bait, chicken liver, night crawlers and hot dogs for catfish.

Escondida Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Gila River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 78.4 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Glenwood Pond: Fishing was good using PowerBait for trout.

Lake Roberts: Fishing was fair using chartreuse PowerBait and homemade garlic cheese bait for rainbow and Gila trout. We had no reports on other species.

Percha Dam: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Quemado Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, worms, Pistol Petes and Fire Balls for trout.

Rancho Grande Ponds: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait for trout.

Rio Grande: Stream flow below Elephant Butte Monday morning was 425 cfs. Fishing below Elephant Butte to Caballo was good using curly tail grubs and west angler minnow imitations for white bass. Fishing was very good using stink bait, night crawlers and liver for catfish. We had no other reports.

Snow Lake: A small group of vets fished here this past week and reported carp fishing as good but trout fishing slow. They caught 14 carp in the 3-pound plus size and only one rainbow. They were using a homemade Velveeta cheese and garlic bait.

Young Pond: The pond remains closed for cleaning and repair.

Alto Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait, Fire Balls, small spoons and worms for trout. Robert Shamy of El Paso reported that he and his brothers in law had great success catching trout as well as small largemouth bass. They were using red worms and yellow PowerBait.

Bataan Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Berrendo Creek: Fishing was fair to good using crank baits, worms, spinner baits and spoons for largemouth bass. We had no reports on other species.

Black River: Stream flow at Malaga on Monday morning was 11.4 cfs. Fishing was fair using night crawlers and liver for catfish. We had no reports on other species.

Blue Hole Park Pond: Fishing was good using PowerBait and worms for trout.

Bonito Lake: Closed until further notice by the city of Alamogordo due to fire damage. It appears now that the lake will be out of commission until the spring of 2020.

Bosque Redondo Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Bottomless Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Brantley Lake: Fishing was slow to fair using curly tail grubs, crank baits, jerk baits and crappie jigs for white bass. Kaleb Brenem of Roswell reported that he and son Kamren caught eight white bass this past Sunday. They were using Bomber tail minnows. Fishing was fair to good using crank baits, spinner baits, top water lures, curly tail grubs, jigs, creature baits, senkos, tubes and jerk baits for largemouth bass.

Carlsbad Municipal Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Chaparral Park Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.

Corona Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week.

El Rito Creek: Fishing was fair using PowerBait, salmon eggs and worms for trout.

Eunice Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.

Oasis Park Lake: Fishing was slow for all species.

Pecos River: Stream flow below Sumner Lake on Monday morning was 1,320 cfs. The area below Sumner Lake has been closed due to high water release.

Perch Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.

Ruidoso River: Stream flow on Monday morning at Hollywood was 15.2 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.

Santa Rosa Lake: Fishing was very good using minnows, small jigs, small tubes and spinners for crappie. Fishing was good using crank baits, jerk baits, flukes, senkos, spinner baits, tubes, grubs, jigs, top water lures and creature baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using bottom bouncers, spoons, tubes, minnows, curly tail grubs and crank baits for walleye. and crappie. We had no reports on other species. A few catfish were caught by anglers using worms and minnows.

Sumner Lake: Fishing was fair to good using minnows and curly tail grubs for crappie. Fishing was good using minnows, liver, stink bait and night crawlers for catfish. Fishing was fair to good using crank baits, spinner baits, tubes, minnows, senkos and creature baits for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was fair to good using crank baits, sassy shad and jig and minnow combinations for walleye. Fishing was fair to good using liver, cut bait and night crawlers for catfish.
