R.P. “Bob” Collyer age 79, passed away on Sunday October 13, 2013 at his home with his family. The son of Paul Collyer and Hilda Wilform, Bob was born in New York on October 19, 1933. He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Robert and Agnes Espinosa, son Michael Collyer, and infant son Charles.

Bob grew up in an orphanage in New York until he was 15. He left and followed the railroad tracks to Raton, New Mexico where he met his wife Clarice. Here they stayed and raised a family. He worked driving the taxi and school bus and also for the railroad for 50 years until and illness made him retire.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Clarice, son Robert, daughters Patricia (Juan), Catherine (Chris) and Angela Munoz. Grandchildren Robbi Jo (Beto), Ashley (Matt), Cassie (Michael), Jennifer (Alex), Michelle (Richard), Stephanie, Mathew and his best little man and companion grandson Christian. Also numerous great grandchildren survive.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday October 19, 2013 in the chapel of the Alderette Pomeroy Funeral Home at 10:00am with a dinner to follow at 104 El Camino Street at noon.

Arrangements for R.P. “Bob” Collyer are under the direction of the Alderette Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton.
