In Memory of Dale Robert Osborn

Dale was born in Raton to Clyde and Dorothy Osborn and was a graduate of Raton High School Class of 1965.  He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde W Osborn.  He is survived by his wife Catherine of Rio Rancho NM, his son David Lee Osborn of Wilmington DE, Mother Dorothy Hall, Rio Rancho NM, brother Larry Osborn and wife Sherry of Raton, brother Kent Hall of Rio Rancho, niece Genni Prator and husband Warren of Carter OK, great nephew Zach Piancino of Carter OK and Ggreat neice Brayden Prater of Carter OK.

Dale joined the Air Force in Sept of 1965 and served until Nov 1972.  He was a Combat Controller and saw combat in Laos, Cambodia, and Viet Nam.  his duty as a CCT was Illuminator/Operator on board an AC-130 “Spectre” gunship.  He flew over 300 missions and was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross with 8 Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Medal with 16 Oak Clusters and 3 Purple hearts.

Dale received his Degree in Community Planning from UNM and worked for several Native american Governments, Regional Governments, and until his death, the Dept of Air Force at Holloman Air Force Base.

Dale will be laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery on Oct 23, 2013
