  1. Carol Bridge says:

    RE Mr. Pete Vigil’s phone.
Some time back Mr Vigil had his phone stolen from the restroom of the depot. Whoever stole it ran up over $300 in bills. The company won’t reissue him a phone until it is paid off. I don’t think it’s so much the money but the hassle that phone companies put us through that’s the problem. Mr Vigil does not need two hours of confusing voicemail trying to get this sorted.
Mr. Vigil volunteers many hours and a lot of effort to greet and assist travelers that stop in Raton. In sunshine and in rain, Mr. Vigil greets the train. For thousands of people every year he is the face and spirit of the town. He is the ultimate Raton Ambassador and is a walking Welcome Center all by himself.
I called BNSF, Director of Public Affairs, Mr. Joe Sloan and left a message about Mr. Vigil’s phone. I will keep us posted.
It’s cold and Mr. Vigil needs to be able to call if he needs a ride or doesn’t feel well.
Come on Raton and the Santa Fe Railroad, let’s take care of this!
