Abiquiu Lake: Action was slow for some but fair to good for others fishing for walleye, smallmouth bass and trout. Anglers fishing from the dock reported catching brown and rainbow trout while using Rapalas and PowerBait. From boats, the best action was reported by walleye anglers using blade baits and spoons. A few smallmouth bass were caught by anglers using small grubs, tubes and senkos. We had no other reports.
Animas River: Water flow below Aztec on Monday morning was 286 cfs. We had no reports from anglers this week.
Albuquerque Area Drains: Trout fishing was reported as very good on the Albuquerque, Belen and Corrales drains. Best baits were meal worms, PowerBait, Fire Balls, small grubs, micro mays and custom tied nymphs. We had no other reports.
Bluewater Lake: Fishing was fair to good using PowerBait and worms for trout. Fishing for tiger muskies and catfish was slow.
Brazos River: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Canjilon Lakes: Closed by the U.S. Forest Service until further notice.
Chama River: Monday morning water flows below El Vado and Abiquiu were 501 cfs and 839 cfs respectively. Fishing above El Vado was good using copper John Barrs, bead-head hares ear nymphs, PowerBait and worms for brown and rainbow trout. Fishing below El Vado was good using wooly buggers, spinners, night crawlers and Fire Balls for brown and rainbow trout. Roberto Archuleta of Espanola celebrated his birthday by catching a limit of nice fat rainbows while fishing near the village of Chama. He was using salmon eggs and PowerBait under a split shot.
Cochiti Lake: Fishing was slow with just a few walleye and bass caught by anglers using jigs and crank baits.
El Vado Lake: Fishing was slow for all species. Fishing pressure was very light.
Fenton Lake: Fishing continued to be very good from the bank and from boats. Anglers did well using PowerBait, salmon eggs, wooly buggers, Pistol Petes, spoons and spinners. Travis Lewis of Los Lunas caught a limit of 9.5 to 12-inch rainbows on the 24th. He was using a green and silver lure.
Heron Lake: Fishing was good using PowerBait and salmon eggs from the bank for rainbow trout. Kokanee snagging was slow. We had no other reports.
Jackson Lake: Fishing was good using small Kastmasters, PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. We had no other reports.
Jemez Waters: Stream flow on the Jemez River near Jemez Springs on Monday morning was 24.0 cfs. Fishing on the Jemez was good using copper John Barrs, custom tied mop flies, Fire Balls and worms for trout. Trout fishing on the lower Cebolla was fair to good using worms and Fire Balls. We had no other reports.
Laguna del Campo: Closed for the season.
Lagunitas Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Lake Farmington: Fishing was fair using PowerBait and salmon eggs for trout. We had no other reports.
Manzano Lake: Fishing was fair to good using garlic PowerBait, salmon egg corn combinations and worms for trout. Andrea Leon, 13, of Belen, had an awesome time fishing here this past week with her mom and dad. They caught nine rainbow trout ranging in size from 9 to 13 inches. They were using a variety of baits with the best being Gulp cheese flavored pinched worms. We had no other reports.
Navajo Lake: Fishing was fair using tubes, plastic worms, grubs, senkos and swim baits worked slow for smallmouth bass and largemouth bass. Fishing was slow to fair using swim baits, chatter baits and jigs for northern pike. A few trout were caught by anglers trolling crank baits and fishing from the bank with salmon eggs. We had no other reports.
San Gregorio Lake: We had no reports from anglers this week.
San Juan River: Stream flow on Monday morning was 387 cfs. Fly fishing action through the Quality waters was good for anglers using rootbeers, brassies, small zebra midges, crystal flash emergers, RS2, comparaduns, red larva, parachute adams and small bead-head pheasant tail nymphs. Trout fishing through the bait waters was fair to good using salmon eggs, wooly worms, PowerBait, worms, prince nymphs, copper John Barrs and bead-head pheasant tail nymphs.
Seven Springs Brood Pond: We had no reports from anglers this week.
Tingley Beach: Fishing at the Youth and Central ponds was very good using PowerBait, salmon eggs, spoons, spinners, Pistol Petes, wooly buggers and bead-head pheasant tail nymphs for trout. Fishing at the Bob Gerding Catch and Release Pond was fair to good using small leech patterns, San Juan worms and custom tied mop flies for trout. We had no other reports.
Trout Lakes: We had no reports from anglers this week.
