In Loving Memory Gilbert A. Torres

Gilbert A. Torres, age 90, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at the Spanish Peaks Veterans Community Living Center, in Walsenburg, CO.
Born and raised on Tercio, Colorado, Gilbert graduated from Primero High School, and worked for Ozzello Construction Co as a truck driver, before enlisting in the US Army on November 1, 1952.
HE served in the Korean Conflict, where he received the Korean Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, the UN Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Ribbon.
IMG_1989Upon his return, Gilbert married Blanche Roybal . He then became a coal miner, retiring after many years of dedicated service for which he received several service awards.
His favorite pastime was hunting , fishing and shed hunting. He loved driving his cherished red Chevy pickup truck to visit his trailer at the farm in Torres
Preceding him in death is his loving wife of 58 years Blanche(Roybal) Torres, parents Arthur and Beatrice Torres, siblings Betty Torres, Eugene Torres, Orvil (Jeannie) Torres, Demetrio Torres and sister in law Frances Torres.
Survived by his son Harold Dean (Jessica) Torres, daughter Betty A. (Gregory) Graham, three grandsons Jarrod D. (Miriam) Graham, Justin D. Torres, Zachary L. (Michelle) Graham, two great granddaughters, Olivia M. Torres, and Mia E. Graham.
Also surviving are siblings, Garfield (Florence) Torres, Sarah (Don) Ward, Virgil Torres, Louie (Rosella) Torres, Andrea (John) Balinski, Kelly (Lucille) Torres, Lorraine Lovato, Robert (Claudette) Torres, Esther “Cecilia” (BeBe) Gutierrez , Carolee Torres, Marvin “Glen” (Sarah) Torres, sister in law, Gloria Torres, numerous sisters and brothers in law, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday from 2PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.
Rosary will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 7PM at Holy Trinity Church.
Funeral Mass will be Friday, November 17, 217 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church,
Entombment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with graveside services conducted by Ft. Carson Honor Guard.
Honorary pallbearers are Irene and David Roybal, Lonso Serna Family and Florence and Ernest Gutierrez.
Active pallbearers are Jarrod D. Graham, Kelly Torres, Justin D. Torres, Zachary L. Graham. John Balinski, and BeBe Gutierrez.
