Claude C. “Pal” Austin, age 85, died on Friday, September 22, 2017, in Clayton, New Mexico.

Rosary will be recited at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 by Deacon P. Louis Montoya and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. following the Rosary at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Fr. Joel Bugas as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the Clayton Memorial Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico.

austinClaude C. “Pal” Austin was born on April 28, 1932 in Amarillo, Texas to Claude Franklin Austin and Helen Frances (Bissett) Austin. He attended school at Price College, Amarillo College, West Texas State University and the University of New Mexcio. He married Jane (Maulsby) Austin on July 22, 1961 in Clayton, New Mexico. In addition to his parents, Pal was preceded in death by a granddaughter; Adrienne Trujillo on Nov. 3, 2013, by a sister; Jean McCorkle and by 5 brothers; Bill Austin, Charles Austin, Walter Austin, George Austin and Bob Austin.

SURVIVORS:

WIFE: Jane Austin of Clayton, New Mexico.

2 DAUGHTERS: Alicia Trujillo and her husband Albert of Clayton, New Mexico and Claudia Montoya and her husband Alex of Dalhart, Texas.

1 SON: Robert Austin and his wife Beth of Amarillo, Texas.

9 GRANDCHILDREN: Aric Trujillo, Ashley Trujillo, Santos Trujillo, Clay Montoya, Alexa McGehee, Lauren Montoya, Bobby Austin, Jesse Austin and Matt Austin.
