PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Colfax County Board of Commissioners will hold a Budget Workshop on April 11, 2017 immediately following the Regular Commission Meeting located in the Commission Chambers at the Colfax County Building, 230 North Third Street, 3rd Floor, Raton, NM to discuss the Budget for 2017 – 2018.

In Loving Memory of Judith Fouret Alexander

Judith Fouret Alexander, daughter of Georgia and Bill Doherty,  passed away April 1, 2017.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 at 12:30PM at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2626 E. 7th Ave., Denver, CO, 80206.

On Monday, April 10, 2017 , Rosary will be recited at 9AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Folsom, NM,  followed by the Funeral Mass at 10AM.

Inurnment will be  at the Folsom Cemetery.

Persons wishing to do so may make contributions to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church Restoration Fund, 235 N Convent St., Trinidad, CO. 81082.

In Loving Memory of Gary David Matthews

Gary David Matthews, age 73, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2017, at his home in Plano, TX. 

 

matthews garyHe was born July 31, 1943, in Scottsbluff, NE, to Glenn and Phyllis (Terry) Matthews.  Gary lived and worked most of his life in Maxwell, NM.  He was an architectural engineer, and many of the commercial and residential buildings he designed can still be found throughout Northeastern New Mexico.  In his later years, Gary most enjoyed time with three of his grandsons, and he always loved to spend time visiting and sharing stories with close friends, wherever he happened to be. Gary had a positive and profound influence on nearly every person with whom he came in contact.  He is survived by his son, Garrick; his daughter, Chandra; five grandchildren: Sean, Ryan, Kolin, Victoria, and Jacek; one brother, Terry; two sisters, Lynn and Jan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Family, friends, and others whose lives Gary touched are invited to the Maxwell Methodist Church on Saturday, July 15, at 10:00 AM for a memorial service in Gary’s honor.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to FarmAid to help those who work the land.

In Loving Memory of Ralph John Sacco

Ralph John Sacco, age 86, passed away March 28, 2017 in Pueblo, Colorado.

He was born in Tolerberg, CO on August 30, 1930, the son of Sarah (Veltri) and Mike Sacco.

He attended Hoehne School graduating in 1954.

On June 5, 1954, Ralph was united in marriage to Anna L. Cernoia at Holy Trinity Church in Trinidad, CO.

Sacco pic (1)He owned and operated the Sacco Dairy Farm for 35 years until his retirement. 

On July 26, 2003, the Spanish Peaks-Purgatorie River Conservation awarded Mr. Sacco an award for the Cooperator of the Year 2002 .

He enjoyed welding, working on his farm equipment, liked farming and tending to his garden.

Ralph liked watching football and was an avid Denver Bronco and CU Buffs fan. 

Preceding him in death are parents Sarah and Mike Sacco, brother Joe Sacco, granddaughter, Susan Barrett, brothers and sisters in law, Lawrence (Frances) Cernoia, Joe Cernoia, Mary Grando and Oliver Cunico.

He is survived by his beloved wife Ann, home address, daughter Sharon (Bill) Barrett, Hoehne, grandsons Michael Barrett, Denver, Daniel Barrett, Pueblo, sisters Josephine Robb, Trinidad, Anna Marie (Gene) Holderness, Denver, sisters-in-law Vera Walters, Minneapolis, MN, Jean Cunico Pueblo, brother-in-law Charles Grando, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, April 3, 2017 with Rosary at 9AM at Comi Chapel followed by the Funeral Mass at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church.,
Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Lawrence Cernoia Jr., Mark Grando, Daniel Barrett, Kenny Vialpando, Brandon Salapich and Michael Robb.
Arrangements made under the direction of the Comi Funeral Home.
