In Loving Memory of Nash (Naserio) Valdez

Nash (Naserio) Valdez passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by his children at his daughter’s home in Tempe, Arizona on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the age of 83.

 

Nash is predeceased by his parents, Tom & Frances Valdez, his brothers, Juan Leonardo (J.L.) Valdez, Floyd Valdez, Manuel Valdez and his sister Stella Valdez. He also joins his grandchildren Theron Valdez and Jeannie Marie Gonzales-Sanchez.

 

valdez nashNash was born in Clayton, New Mexico in 1934. He graduated from Hoehne High School in 1953 and went on to become a well-known businessman in the Southern Colorado and Central New Mexico areas.  During his life he owned the Wagon Wheel Bar; Gray Creek Feed Store, and Valdez Trucking.  Through his business dealings he made numerous acquaintances and many great friendships.  You could go within a 500 mi radius of Trinidad and just about anyone you talked to knew of or had a story about Nash.

 

Nash is lovingly remembered by his family; his eldest brother Alfonso (Gloria) Valdez of Willard, NM; youngest brother Tom (Virginia) Valdez of Mountainair, NM; younger sisters Rose Montoya of Trinidad, CO; Toni Montoya of Albuquerque, NM; and Luisa (Ron) Barowski of St. Augustine, FL; and many loving nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

 

Nash is survived by his spouse Cindy Valdez of Willard, NM along with their three children; Dr. Angela (Edward) Redondo of Tempe, AZ; Anthony Martinez of Willard, NM; and Albert Martinez of Albuquerque, NM; along with 4 grandchildren.

 

He is also survived by his five children whom he shared with former spouse Evelyn (Raymond Lopez) Valdez; Ron (Terri) Valdez of Trinidad, CO; Sharon (Jim Rouse Jr.) Valdez of Denver, CO; Valorie (Tom Martinez) Velasquez of Trinidad, CO; Steve (Tammy) Valdez of Trinidad, CO; and Tim (Tonya) Valdez of Trinidad, CO; along with 22 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

 

His family and friends will always remember him as a hardworking, fun-loving man.

 

The memorial services will commence with a Rosary at Comi Chapel in Trinidad, CO at 9AM on  May 5th, 2017, followed by Memorial Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 10 AM

Inurnment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
