kimbleBACKGROUND: Roy Charles Kimble was born on July 17, 1946 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to the late Bobbie and O.C. Kimble. He later moved to El Centro, California and then to Clayton, New Mexico where he grew up with his family. He attended school in Clayton and graduated from Clayton High School in 1965. Following high school graduation he attended Eastern New Mexico University on a track scholarship, Trinidad Junior College on a football scholarship and graduated from CSU Pueblo (formerly Southern Colorado State College). While attending CSU Pueblo he met the love of his life, Donna Komorny, who he later married on August 1, 1970. Donna and Roy both finished their senior year of college at CSU Pueblo and then moved to Clayton, New Mexico. Upon arriving in Clayton in 1971, he became a third generation rancher, joining his father O.C., in the family ranching business. In 1997, he ventured out on his own to continue the family tradition of ranching by forming Kimble Cattle Company LLC. Roy “Poohpa” was a lifetime rancher with a deep love for sports. He was a dynamic personality with a great sense of humor and a kind heart, willing to help out whenever needed. His love for sports led him to volunteer with peewee sports, to referee athletic activities and coach many track athletes attending CHS. He also helped with the Old Western Dance competition, golf tournaments and sponsored numerous athletic activities within the community. He was an avid Broncos fan and enjoyed golfing, skiing and traveling with his family. He recently became a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, completing RCIA classes in April of 2016. Roy’s biggest sense of accomplishment was his family. His devotion and love for his wife, children and grandchildren could not be surpassed. Roy was preceded in death by his father O.C. Kimble and mother Bobbie Kimble.

He is survived by his loving wife Donna Kimble of the family home in Clayton, three sons: Ryan Kimble and his wife Ginger and their two daughters Skyler and Julaine of Gig Harbor, Washington, Crockett Kimble of Red River, New Mexico and Todd Kimble and his wife Johnna and their three children Tailyn, Joslyn and Trevin of Clayton, New Mexico, one brother Fred Kimble of Bangkok, Thailand, eight nephews, four nieces and many friends.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church or the CHS Booster Club in Roy’s memory.
