In Loving Memory of Joseph Gust Grubelnik

Joseph Gust Grubelnik, age 93, passed away in Walsenburg, CO on June 27, 2016.
He was born in Yankee, NM on March 19, 1923 to Gust and Mary Grubelnik.
He was raised on Barela Mesa and lived with his parents and brothers, Fred and Jim.
Grubelnik MilitaryJoe proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1942-1946 receiving an Honorable Discharge as a Tech Sergeant.  He was an airplane flight engineer on a C47. During this time he received a Distinguished Flying Cross and an Air Medal three times. 
Joe met his wife Bertha Franklin in Raton, NM and they were married on April 5, 1948.
Together with Louie Vezzani, Joe operated the Walsenburg Sand and Gravel for several years  In his later years, Joe retired back on the ranch.
He was preceded in death by parents, Mary and Gust, brothers Fred and Jim Grubelnik.
Survivors are wife Bertha, daughter Mary Ann (Terry) Williams, son Frank (Natalie) Grubelnik, granddaughers Sherri (Bob) tipping, Dawna Jo Avila, grandsons, Larry Williams, Michael (Andrea) Grubelnik,  7 great grandchildren, sisters in law Louise Grubelnik, Dorothy Leahy,nieces, nephews other relatives and a great number of friends that holds the greatest respect for him.
Visitation will be Wednesday July 6, 2016 from 3PM-5PM at the Comi Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, July 7, 2016 with Rosary at 9AM a the Comi Chapel followed by the Funeral Mass at 10AM at Sebastiani Gym.
Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Raton, NM.

Active pallbearers are Larry Williams, Michael Grubelnik, Stanley White, Gary Vezzani, Johnny Gubelnik, Sam Koury and Gary Grubelnik.
