Greg Bates, local artist and animal lover, passed away on Monday, June 27, 2016 at the age of 70.
He was born on October 24, 1945 in Detroit Michigan to Mary (Genet) and Emroe Bates.
On April 25, 1977, Greg was united in marriage to Sue Preusser in Las Cruces, NM.
Greg will best be remembered for his artistic skills and his beautiful paintings and his involvement at TSJC in the Gunsmithing Department.
He was preceded in death by his father Emroe in 1972.
Left to cherish his memory is wife of 35 years Sue of the home address, stepmother Esther T. Bates, half brothers Cary and Dana (Barbara) half sister Joanne (Stephen) Crimmins, all from TX, mother Mary Genet and other half brothers and sisters from the East Coast.
At his request cremation and no services.
