In Loving Memory of Alberta May

Alberta May, age 87, died Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Clayton, New Mexico. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Clayton, New Mexico with Rev. Kyle Bueermann and Rev. Billy Rammage Officiating. Burial will follow in the Mexhoma Cemetery in Mexhoma, Oklahoma by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton, New Mexico. 

Alberta May was born on June 14, 1927 in Pratt, Kansas to Clayton Burns and Elsie Dena (Britton) Burns. She grew up during the dust bowl days and developed dustamonia as a child so they moved to California to get away from the dust and returned a few years later. Alberta married Robert Michael “Bob” May on October 10, 1959 in Clayton, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on October 3, 1992. After her husband died, Alberta moved to Clayton and worked for the Clayton Senior Citizens Center for several years as well as working as an in home care giver for many older ladies in the community. In addition to her parents and husband, Alberta was preceded in death by a brother; Bobby Burns. 

SURVIVORS: 

3 SONS: Billy May of Boise City, Oklahoma, Bobby May of Seattle, Washington and Kelly May and his wife Diana of Helena, Oklahoma. 

3 STEP-DAUGHTERS: Bobby Ann Stewart and Grace Amelia Compton both of Washington and Dorothy Lois Williams of Oklahoma. 

1 STEP-SON: Donald Paul May of Felt, Oklahoma. 

5 SISTERS: Loretta Ward, Eva Foley, Barbara Welz, Nellie Mckeegan and Dena Harkrider. 

1 BROTHER: Clayton Burns. 

20 granchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
