In Loving Memory of Faustin Candelario

Faustin Candelario age 90, was born on February 15, 1925, to Miguel and Pablita Candelario on the Meloche Ranch (TO Ranch). He died on April 6, 2015, in Raton, NM with his children by his side.

Faustin was married to Margaret A. Valdez on November 11, 1946. Together they raised and are survived by 5 children, Christopher F Candelario and Edna, Rita Martinez and Emilio, Ted Candelario, Virginia Valdez, and Faustin Tim Candelario. Also surviving are sister, Mary Blea, a special niece Christina Gallegos and Larry, 19 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his faithful chihuahua, Jennifer. 

He was preceded in death by the love of his life, Margaret, his parents, brothers, Joe Candido & Mike, sisters, Lilly Chavez & Eva DeHerrera. Half brother Celso Chavez, half sisters Clorinda Chavez, Margarita Chavez, Rafaela Candelario, Matilda Dominguez, and Anita Milligan. 

Faustin was a general contractor, carpenter, and cabinet maker. He took pride in his work, and spent many hours in his shop, creating things out of wood. 

He was a member of the VFW post 1793, a United States Marine Corps Veteran serving in WWII. 

He also spent many hours in the great outdoors hunting and fishing. He had a great love for animals and throughout his life provided a home for many dogs, cats, and other types of animals. 

Faustin also enjoyed joking with family, friends and strangers. If he saw someone in need he would often go out of his way to help them. He lived his life loving his family, making friends, finding new adventures and blessing our lives with all of his antics. He will certainly be missed. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in his name to the Raton Humane Society, P.O. Box 1321, Raton, NM 87740 

Cremation had taken place and a memorial mass will be announced at a later date. Funeral arrangements for Faustin Candelario are under the direction of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home of Raton.
