In Loving Memory of Orlando Fernando (Fred) Medina

Orlando Fernando (Fred) Medina, age 87, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, August 7, 2014. 

He was born on March 31, 1927 in Chicosa, Colorado to Fernando Orlando Medina and Lupita Trujillo.

 Fred proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Prometheus.  He received his Honorable Discharge in 1946. He married the love of his life, Flora Archuleta from Sopris, CO on January 4, 1947 at Holy Trinity Church. Fred worked for Kendall’s Bakery, Domenic Leone Construction and retired as a Supervisor from the Allen Coal Mine.

 Preceding him in death is wife Flora, son Joseph, daughter Donna Jean, brother Rudy Medina and sister Julia Medina.

 He is survived by children, John (Prudence) Medina, Yvonne (Val) Lucero,, Theresa (Michael) Fernandez, Fred Medina, Frank(Lola) Medina, brother Ernest (Do) Medina, sister in law  Irene McAllister, many beloved nieces and nephews, 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren,  and 10 great great grandchildren, whom he loved very much. He will be greatly missed by his loving canine companion Lucky.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 3PM-6PM at the Comi Chapel.

 Rosary will be Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 7PM at Holy Trinity Church.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 14, 2014 at 10AM at Holy Trinity Church. Interment will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery with graveside services conducted by the US Naval Honor Guard. Active Pallbearers  are Fred’s grandsons.

    So sorry we aren’t able to go to the funeral .We both had eye surgery and aren’t able to drive.tried to find address of John Medina in Trinidad but wasn’t available on internet.So sorry for your loss of your dad.Theresa’,Fred’Yvonne’Frank .So sorry Uncle Ernest for loss of your brother.God bless you all .
