Joyce Ann Steinberger, age 75 of Raton, NM, passed away Monday May 26, 2014 in Raton. She was born May 6, 1939 in St. Charles, Virginia the daughter of Thomas and Mary Taylor-Hayes. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary.
Joyce is preceded in death by her parents, husband frank Steinberger, grandson Joseph and numerous brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three daughters, Mary Lynne Steinberger of Raton, Anna Maria Steinberger of Delaware, OH, and Yvonne Susan Rosenow and husband Timothy of Bloomington, ILL. Three sons, John McKinley Steinberger of Raton, Frank Anton Steinberger Jr. and wife Chastity of Delaware, OH, and Steven Andrew Steinberger and wife Monica of Cortez, CO. two sisters, Eve Bledsoe of North Carolina and Louise Fairchild of New Carlisle, OH. One brother Howard Hayes and wife Bert of Ohio. And nine grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M. at the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home in Raton.
Recitation of the Most Holy Rosary will be Monday June 2, 2014 at 9:30 A.M. at the St. Patrick’s-St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by the Legion of Mary, Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:00 A.M. with father John Trambley as the celebrant. Rite of christian burial will be in the Mat. Calvary Cemetery.
Arrangements and celebration of love for Joyce Ann Steinberger are under the direction of the Yaksich-Long Funeral Home of Raton.
Joyce was a special lady. Even in her illness, she welcomed me in her home…a stranger at Thanksgiving.
