Raton Hosts Pojoaque for District Double Headers

Another cool spring day in the rockies for softball and baseball as Raton hosted Pojoaque for district double headers at Jim Wade Field for Softball and Gabriele Field for Baseball

At the softball field it was a close one in game one as the Lady Tigers took a strong 7 run lead but mistakes allowed the Elkettes to tie the game at seven in the fifth. Back and forth it went until late in the seventh inning when Caydence Sisneros stole second and went on around to slide home just under catcher Analisa Martinez for the win. However in game two it was a different story as they Lady Tigers simply couldn’t put it together and Pojoaque pulled out and 10 run ruled Raton 14-3.

On the baseball diamond the Raton boys pulled out a slim win 2-1 in game one while the second game went Raton’s way. Cam Baird stuck with it on the mound and went the entire game and shut out Pojoaque to put another mark in the win column for district play.
