Augustin Grano Jr., 61 of Springer NM, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on September 1, 2013. Born in Springer, New Mexico to Augustin Grano Sr. and Ursulita Grano. Augustin was a US Army Veteran, having served during the Viet Nam war, he lived most of his life in Raton, New Mexico.
Augustin was a passionate man who enjoyed spending time with friends and family. “Augie” was well liked in his community and could always be counted on by many. Augie was a man with a huge heart, always willing to help a stranger. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, and taking pictures.
Augustin was extremely loving and proud of his two daughters, Melissa Quintana and Quinn Grano. He is preceded in death by his daughter Quinn Grano, and father Augustin Grano Sr. He is survived by his mother Ursulita Grano of Hobbs, NM, daughter Melissa (William) Quintana, of Pueblo, CO and his grandson Nicholas Grano-Garcia, of Pueblo, CO. He is also survived by his siblings Stella (Pete) Romero, Jane Biswell, Carlos (Sara) Grano, Michael (Lourdes) Grano, of Hobbs, NM., Jesse DeHerrera, Alex (Bev) Grano, Phyllis Grano, of Raton, NM., Francis Abeyta, of Denver, CO, David (Karole) Grano of Albuquerque, NM. as well as his many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He will forever be loved and missed by all. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013 at St Joseph’s Church, Raton. Rosary at 9:30 am, Memorial service will follow the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Mount Calvery Cemetary. Family will receive friends at St. Joseph’s Parish Hall following services.
