Colorado will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 6:00 P.M.
in City Council Chambers at City Hall, 135 N. Animas Street, Trinidad, Colorado, 81082

The Public Comment section offers an opportunity for any citizen to express opinions or ask
questions regarding City services, policies, or other matters of community concern, and any agenda
items that are not a part of a scheduled public hearing. Those wishing to speak MUST sign in no
later than 6:00 pm. Citizens will have five minutes for comments. This time limit was established to
provide efficiency in the conduct of the meeting and to allow equal opportunity for everyone wishing
to speak. An immediate response should not be expected, as issues are typically referred to City staff
for follow-up or research and are then reported back to Council and the individual who initiated the
comment or inquiry. Written materials for presentation to Council must be submitted to the City
Clerk as the speaker approaches the podium.

CONSENT AGENDA APPROVAL
The Consent Agenda can be adopted by a simple motion. The Consent Agenda will be read aloud
prior to a vote on the motion. Any Consent Agenda item may be removed from the Consent Agenda
at the request of a Council Member for individual consideration.

Approval of the Regular Meeting Minutes of August 5, 2025 and Special Meeting
Minutes of August 11, 2025
Reschedule Public Hearings for consideration of the following ordinances to 6:00
pm on September 2, 2025: i) An ordinance to extend for an indefinite term the one
percent sales tax originally authorized by a vote of the people on November 4, 1980
and extended six times since, and to provide for dedication of the revenue from such
tax to Capital Projects, Purchases and Maintenance; ii) An ordinance submitting to
the voters of the City of Trinidad at the Regular Election to be held on November 5,
2025, a Referendum to indefinitely extend the one percent sales tax originally
authorized by the people on November 4, 1980 and extended by a vote of the people
six times since, and dedicate the revenues from such sales tax to Capital Projects,
Purchases and Maintenance; iii) An ordinance amending Section 1-4 of Chapter 21
“Special Events”) of the Trinidad Municipal Code to expand on the definition of a “
Special Event”
