On August 5th, 2025, Marsha Ann “Mimi” Moore of Raton, New Mexico, passed away at her son’s home near Trinidad, Colorado, at the age of 70. Mimi had chosen months prior to begin receiving hospice care and had many good days surrounded by her loved ones, her children and grandchildren.
Mimi was born on January 6th, 1955 in Amarillo, Texas. She grew up in Angleton, Texas, and graduated from Angleton High School, class of 1973. She moved to northeastern New Mexico in the early 1980s where she married, gave birth and raised her three biological children as well as her adopted son through marriage.
Mimi returned to Amarillo, Texas, in the early 1990s to complete her bachelor’s degree in nursing and followed that with a master’s degree in nursing at West Texas A&M University, in Canyon, Texas. Throughout her career as a nurse Mimi cared for patients in many rural communities and especially enjoyed her time traveling to various reservations in New Mexico to serve the people there.
Mimi is survived by Cooper Moore, wife Amanda and their children Sage and Kaycee Moore of Trinidad, Colorado; Clayton Moore, wife Ana and their children Landon, Landry and Abby Moore of Roy, New Mexico; Emily Brink, husband Paul and their children Tom and Ruby Brink of Lorane, Oregon; James Moore, wife Tracy and their children Chase, Jaycie and Devin Moore, of Lubbock, Texas.
Mimi’s family will celebrate her life with a small private memorial event. In lieu of flowers please make any donations in her honor to the Raton Colfax Relay for Life, at 844 4th Street, Raton, New Mexico, 87740, an organization that was dear to Mimi’s heart.
Mimi enjoyed sharing life with her Maltese dogs, crocheting blankets as gifts for special occasions, cooking, tending to her plants, remodeling houses, spending quality time with friends and her children, and most of all she loved her grandchildren. She was thrilled to watch them grow and enjoyed attending their rodeo, sports and various school events.
A significant milestone in Mimi’s life was her experience on a Walk to Emmaus, a Methodist Christian retreat, where participants spend time in reflection on God’s Grace. After her walk Mimi inspired and sponsored others on their walks.
