Flora Ida Manke
June 13, 1938 – July 28, 2025
Flora Ida Manke passed away on July 28, 2025. She was born in Wet Canyon, CO on June 19, 1938 to Davis and Beatrice Duran. She graduated from Aguilar High School in 1956 . She married William Wayne Manke in May 1959, and had four children: Norman Manke, William (Billy) Manke, Brian Sisneros, and Laurel Manke-Damico.
She lived life to the fullest, especially when she could spend time with her family and many friends. She enjoyed being in nature, good food, music and especially dancing. She was also a devout Catholic. She spent sixteen years in the Trinidad Nursing Home, where she did not shy away from adventure and encouraged all residents to do the same. Her generosity was well known among everyone around her, especially when Laurel would send treats to share. She is a devout Catholic and her spirit will live on in all those who knew her. Although she is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
She is preceded by her parents, Davis and Beatrice Duran; her husband William Wayne Manke; her brothers, Joe Duran, Lee Duran, Eloy Duran, Pat Duran, and Mike Duran; her son William (Billy) Manke.
She is survived by her sisters, Helen Paiz, Irene Tanis, and Lillian Becker; her brother Ernest Duran; her children Norman Manke, Brian Sisneros, and Laurel Manke-Damico; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, August 4, 2025, from 11 am to noon. Rosary will follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Church at 12:30 pm. Funeral mass will follow at 1 pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
