Gloria Jean Manarik
Our beloved Mother & Grandmother, Gloria Jean Manarik (Jaramillo), 83, passed away surrounded by her loving family in Brighton, Colorado on April, 5th, 2025 just as the beautiful morning pink sunrise began.
She was born outside Trinidad, Co in Sopris, Colorado on July, 27th, 1943 to parents, Michael Jaramillo and Sally Jaramillo (Martinez).
She grew up in Sopris, Colorado and was the oldest child out of 12 siblings. She was a loving and devoted sister who was very active in helping her parents with her siblings daily. This experience made her an expert with babies and an inspiration to all mothers.
After high school she moved to Westminster, Colorado with then husband Frank C. Gonzales. They had three children together, Susan A. Byrnas, Eddie F. Gonzales, & Jolene M. Gonzales. Gloria loved her children dearly and enjoyed motherhood with all her heart.
She then remarried, to Allen J. Manarik (the love of her life) and moved to Evergreen Colorado.
Once retired they both moved back to Trinidad Colorado, purchasing her dream home as a child.
She lived life loudly, fiercely & lovingly. She was a devout Catholic/Christian and taught faith to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was very proud of her long time career at Keebler’s which she spent 30 years at until retiring. She loved her siblings, aunts, uncles nieces, nephews and many cousins. She was very proud of her children, granddaughters & great-grandsons they were the light of her life.
She enjoyed being competitive and sports, she loved playing on a softball league with her children and husband. Once retired golf became her favorite past time, you could catch her at golf course every weekend. Her and her husband loved taking rides on the motorcycle and going on walks together. She enjoyed traveling, collecting jewelry from where she went, seeing new places and meeting new people. On her down time her enjoyed watching CSI, law and order, & other true crime shows while enjoying a cup of coffee.
She was always willing to help others and always had the courage and spirit to make a difference in the world where she could. She bravely fought for the right for co-ed ball teams for her daughter and other girls to play on since they didn’t have a team of their own. She became a loving foster parent and housed and cared for many children over many years. She also helped many young mothers which I know she impacted deeply.
Her love for her family was deeply felt and shown at every occasion. She was a loving, supportive, and fun wife and most loving, fun, strong, and admirable mother and grandmother. It has been the privilege of a lifetime to have lived this lifetime with her and be a recipient of her love. We will continue our journey with her in our souls, passing down all that she has taught each of us and equipping her great-grandsons with her knowledge and ability to never give up. Her wisdom, strength, resilience, and love will echo through generations.
