In Loving Memory of Jimmy Hewbert Romero

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Jimmy Hewbert Romero, who left us peacefully on March 14, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on July 13, 1958, to the late Erlinda and Willfred Romero, Jimmy’s life was one filled with love, faith, and devotion to family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father, his brother Fredrick Romero, his life partner Michael Maez, and his cherished companion cat, Blondie. Jimmy is survived by his loving brother, Lee Romero, and sisters Rita Romero and Elizabeth (Bimbi) Romero Redlich, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he adored and who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Jimmy spent much of his life serving others, working as a cook in various hospitals and nursing homes. His dedication to caring for others through food was just one of the many ways he made a difference in the lives of those around him. After retiring, he treasured his time with family, whether traveling on vacations, gathering for holidays, celebrating special occasions, or simply enjoying moments around the table, sharing stories and laughter.

A man of deep faith, Jimmy faced many struggles in life with resilience and strength, always trusting in his higher power to guide him. His unwavering belief in the goodness of life and the power of love was an inspiration to all who knew him.

Now, God has called him home, and he is at rest with the angels, reunited with his mother in Heaven. While we will miss his warm presence, his kind spirit, and his infectious smile, we take comfort in knowing he is in a place of peace and eternal love.

Jimmy’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue to inspire those who remain. Rest in peace, Jimmy. You are loved and will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held to honor Jimmy’s life and celebrate his journey on May 10, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Alderette-Pomeroy Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow in the Mount View Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jimmy’s name.
