At the end of the day, the students were very surprised by a medical helicopter presentation brought together by the Raton Fire Department. They were able to learn about the many different jobs that make these flights possible for rural communities from mechanics, pilots, paramedics, nursing, business and marketing, etc.
It was a wonderful day and we are so thankful to have community members who are willing to come and spend their day engaging with our students and teaching them about the many careers we have in Raton and surrounding areas. Raton Elks Lodge provided $200 worth of gift cards to raffle to students at the end of the day.
We would also like to thank Raton Public Schools Administration, Raton High School Administration, Raton Public Schools Cafeteria Staff, and Raton Elks Lodge #865 for always supporting our youth and their futures.
