In Loving Memory of Christopher “Chris” Alderette

Christopher “Chris” Alderette, age 61, was called to heaven on January 12, 2025. Chris gave all he had to battle his acute illness. He was born on October 26, 1963, to Victor Alderette Sr. and Selena Valenzuela Alderette in Raton, New Mexico.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents, Maternal grandparents Benito and Senaida Valenzuela, paternal grandparents Redusindo and Regina Alderette, Brother Charles Alderette, Sister Patsy Alderette-Garcia, and Nephew Lawrence Alderette.

Chris is survived by his loving daughters Stephanie Gallardo and husband (AJ Gallardo) of Albuquerque, Tina Saxton of Bernalillo, and granddaughter Anisa Benavidez of Bernalillo.  Brothers,  Thomas and Carol Alderette of Raton, Victor and Lupita Alderette of Raton, Maryann and Jeff Barenburg of Amarillo TX, Regina and Russ Jaramillo of Gallup N.M., and Carol Largo his loving girlfriend. Many grandkids, nieces and nephews.

Chris loved working on cars and fishing. He loved sour candy to feed his “worm”. Chris loved making people laugh. Chris was never one to judge, he saw the best in everyone. The smile on his face when people laughed at his jokes would light up the room. He was devoted to God. He strived to help the homeless or those who struggled to find shelter with God. Christopher was the best DAD, grandpa, and partner we could ask for.

His daughters LOVED him, he was a man of the LORD. He will be missed. He dedicated his life to giving more to others than he received. He fed those who were hungry and provided for those who were starving. He cared for those seeking guidance.

Recitation of the most Holy Rosary will be on February 21, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church recited by the Legion of Mary followed by the Mass of Christian burial at 11:30 am on February 21, 2025, at St. Patrick’s/St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Woytavich as Celebrant. Rite of Committal and Inurnment follow at Fairmont Cemetery.
