In Loving Memory of Joaquin “Jake” Galvan
Joaquin “Jake” Galvan, born on October 28, 1965, in Brownsville, Texas, passed away
peacefully on January 23, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. He was the beloved
son of Minerva and Joaquin Galvan, who preceded him in death, along with his cherished
sister, Mary Gonzales.
Jake was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud grandfather, and a steadfast friend. He
is survived by his loving wife, Norma Galvan, and his children—Anthony, Dolores, Nadine,
Joaquin, and Minerva—who were the center of his world. He also leaves behind his dear
sister, Laura Galvan, and his nephew, Chris Deacon, who held a special place in his heart.
Of all the roles Jake embraced in life, being a grandfather was one of his greatest joys. His
grandchildren—Emilio, Elijah, Sisco, Esperanza, Lyric, Leandra, and Serenity—brought him
boundless happiness and lled his heart with pride. He was also a guiding presence to his
nieces and nephews, always offering love, wisdom, and laughter.
Jake was a man of quiet strength, a provider in every sense of the word, and a source of
unwavering support for those he loved. He believed in hard work, in the power of
perseverance, and in always showing up for his family, no matter how long the day had
been. His love was not just spoken but shown through his actions—through the meals
shared at the dinner table, the stories told with a twinkle in his eye, and the sacrices made
without hesitation.
To know Jake was to know kindness, loyalty, and a love that was as steady as it was deep.
His presence was a source of warmth and stability, a constant reminder of what it meant to
love selessly. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of those
who were blessed to know him.
His absence leaves a void that can never truly be lled, but his memory will be carried
forward in every shared laugh, every act of love, and every family gathering where his
presence will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
A service to celebrate Jake’s life will be held on February 12, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00
PM at Comi Funeral Home. As we grieve, we also take comfort in knowing that he is at
peace, reunited with those who went before him, and watching over us with the same love
that he gave so freely in life.
Rest in peace, Jake. Your love, your laughter, and your legacy will forever remain in our
hearts.
