Josie Ramirez, 97, went to her Heavenly Mansion in the morning hours of December 6, 2024. She died peacefully in her sleep and her passing brings a strong sense of loss to her family and friends.
Josephine was born on January 18, 1927 in a small, rural community of Van Houghton, New Mexico. She worked at a hardware store in Trinidad and was very much involved in her community and church for many years. Josephine was a social butterfly who loved people she made friends everywhere she went, and was not shy about starting up conversations with strangers and kids. She enjoyed listening to music, doing arts and crafts and visiting with family and friends.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Edwardo and Virginia Sanchez, her loving husband and best friend Augustine Ramirez, the light of her life her daughter Linda Ramirez, siblings Tina (Elias) Griego, Gilbert (Teresa) Sanchez, Benito (Stella) Sanchez, Eddie (Evelyn) Sanchez, Joe Adelio Sanchez, and Priscilla Tafoya.
She is survived by many nieces, nephews God children and other relatives.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, in Trinidad, Colorado. Rosary at 9:30 AM, Mass at 10:00 AM and burial immediately following at the Trinidad Catholic Cemetery.
