Joe ‘Arthur (Pork Chop) Santistevan left this world on December 5, 2024. Joe was born and raised in Sopris Colorado. he worked many jobs in the local area as a contractor, He worked to help in the construction of Trinidad Dam, Donnelly gym and many other projects. He also worked for the railroad. Joe is preceded in death by his Parents Brigido and Clethedo (Lopez) Santistevan, wife of 55 years, Alice (Duran) Santistevan, his infant daughter’s Beverly and Diana Son’s, Joe Arthur “Chuco” Santistevan Jr., David Santistevan, and Robert “Bobby” Santistevan and Beverly(Martinez) Santistevan. Joe is survived by his Son and “partner in crime” Bernard “Lambchop” Santistevan, Richard Santistevan, Daughter Samantha “Sam” (Phil) Martin, Alice (Michael) Lucero, Freida Santistevan, Cleo Santistevan, Genevieve (Tim) James, Sister Ersie Vigil and Sister in Law Virginia Vialpando, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren nieces and nephews.
Joe lead a very active lifestyle. He enjoyed working in his yard and chopping firewood. When Joe was not doing his “chores”, he and “Lambchop” enjoyed visiting with their many friends at the local “Pubs”. Joe never turned down an opportunity to attend a gathering and share a drink with his family and friends. He enjoyed spending the weekends gathering with family and friends at his daughter Sam’s ranch.
Joe will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Comi Chapel on Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm and his funeral mass will be held at Holy Trinity Church on Friday December 13, 2024, at 10:00 am, Burial to follow in theTrinidad Catholic Cemetery.
