Leonel C. Lozano
June 16, 1933 – October 15, 2024
Leonel C. Lozano, beloved father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico, on June 16, 1933, Leonel carried his love for nature, faith, and family throughout his life.
He found his heart’s home in Trinidad, where he lived for over 25 years, drawn by the beauty of the landscape. There, he formed lasting friendships through his church and social circles, enriching the lives of those who knew him. Leonel was a man of strong morals, honesty, and integrity—qualities that guided his life and were an example to his children and those who loved him.
Despite being a conservative and reserved man, his love for his children, Elizabeth Baggenstoss, Mary Ivy, Leonel Lozano, Robert Lozano, Alvaro Lozano, and Carmen A. Lozano, was unconditional. His greatest joy came from his grandchildren, for whom he always kept full-sized candy bars in his workshop and welcomed for long visits to his cherished cabin. He even learned to text to keep up with the modern times, never letting distance or time diminish their bond.
Leonel was one of five brothers who, despite being separated by geography, maintained close ties throughout their lives. He is survived by his brother, Elco Lozano.
His love for God and his unwavering faith were central to his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of compassion, devotion, and strength. His passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and the Trinidad community.
He will be dearly missed. Rest in peace, Dad.
