Mary Ann (Fatur) Cockrell
October 4, 1959 – June 10, 2024
Mary Ann, age 64, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 10th. She was an amazing
woman and will be missed dearly. Mary Ann was born to Paul Fatur Jr. and Violett Fatur on
October 4, 1959, in Trinidad, CO. She attended Trinidad Catholic School and graduated in 1977.
Mary Ann went on to Trinidad Jr. College, receiving an associate degree in business.
Mary Ann married Dave Cockrell at Holy Trinity Church in 1980 and moved to Arlington, TX.
She worked as an Executive Secretary at CAMI, where she organized and facilitated meetings
of corporate heads from all over the world. After over 20 years, Dave and Mary Ann separated
but remained friends.
Mary Ann moved to Corinth, Texas, after meeting Pete Zampino. Although never married, they
remained together until his death in 2017. She worked at Little Quick Pack-n-Ship, becoming
friends with the owner Jeff Little and his family.
In May of 2023, Mary Ann moved back to Trinidad, where she lived until her passing. She
touched many lives and was known for her humor, prayer groups, generosity, and helping
everyone she met. She had a love of pets, especially her latest, Marlow.
Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Violett Fatur, and Pete Zampino. She is
survived by her brother Gene Fatur (Valerie), nephew Paul Fatur (Francine), niece Anna Clouse
(Devon), great-nephews Giovanni, Dante, and Gaetano Clouse, Travis Royce (Amy), Caalab
Royce, Shai Royce, Shambra, Mia, Tommy, and August Pekuri, Dave Cockrell, the Zampino
Family, and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, at the Comi Funeral
Chapel. Following the visitation will be the Rosary held at 5:00 pm. The funeral mass will be
held at Holy Trinity Church on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:00 am.
