My dear friends and family,
As I reflect on this recent election, the word that comes to mind is “gratitude”. I cannot express how grateful I am for the unwavering support you all have shown me throughout this journey. Without your hard work, words of encouragement, and the other countless ways you have helped, I couldn’t have come nearly as far as I did. For that, I want to extend my deepest thanks.
Although some may call this a loss, I consider this entire experience a significant victory. Our small, grassroots campaign gave a longstanding establishment incumbent with corporate backing a run for his money. I truly believe that, even though it was not the outcome we hoped for, this campaign sparked the hope for change that our community has needed for a very long time.
I want you all to know that the road to a better future does not end here. I plan to continue advocating for the policies I campaigned on—recruiting doctors back to New Mexico, improving our education system, restoring public health clinics in small communities, enacting tougher legislation against violent repeat offenders, retaining access to women’s reproductive healthcare, and improving job opportunities in our state. Together, we can still work to better our community and hold politicians accountable to their constituents.
So once again, thank you all so much. Your support has been my strength, and your belief in our cause will continue to guide us forward.
Thank you.
